EXP022 - Project Management Foundation Principles & Techniques

Delivery:

This Seminar is based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) 3rd edition. We use two instructors and restrict enrolment to 18 seats. Topics are delivered in the sequence usually encountered by a Project Manager when initiating a new project. A work session, in small groups, follows the delivery of each topic. During the seminar, the participants will begin by planning a project and developing the documentation for implementation and control. The work of the discussion groups will then be entered into an MS Project file by one instructor while the other is delivering the next session. The project is implemented using imaginary actual work results prepared by the seminar participants. This information is projected on screen using an LCD computer projector and the inputs are examined by the seminar participants. This process is repeated for several imaginary reporting dates. As the work progresses, it becomes necessary for the groups to find solutions to various issues and mitigate variances from planned cost, time and quality constraints which have developed as the project is being implemented. In addition, resource use issues and management of contracts add challenge to the management questions under review. If you want to apply best practices to your projects, this is the seminar for you.

This seminar qualifies for 15 Professional Development Credits (PDUs)
