EXP011 Automating Project Management

Using MS Project Software

EXP Consulting offers a two day Seminar focused on the use of MS Project to automate the Project Management Process. We limit Seminar seats to 14. This small enrolment enables one on one coaching during work sessions.

MS Project builds a completely integrated data base as you use it to develop and manage your Project plan. It enables the Project Team to examine and adjust Project data quickly and to test Project data under a wide variety of scenarios. An important feature of this seminar is preparation for using the tool as a Web based communications instrument

This seminar qualifies for 15 Professional Development Units (PDUs)

You Will Learn To:
1. Use MS Project to automate the implementation of your Projects 7. Implement your project on schedule
2. Enhance your project outline 8. Consistently report results against your Project baseline
3. Schedule tasks in a logical relationship 9. Identify deviation from plan, explain reasons for deviations and take corrective action
4. Identify and price required resources 10. Evaluate adherence to time targets and budget targets
5. Allocate resources to tasks 11. Produce Project Status Reports consistently in a format agreed to by your Project Team and other stakeholders
6. Identify cash flow requirements 12. Use MS Project to quickly visualize and test a wide variety of scenarios respecting relationships between and among your Project schedules, resource allocations, task durations and WBS configuration

Time: - 8:30 AM to 4:45 PM both days.

Delivery - Instruction is illustrated using Power Point, MS Project 2002, MS Word and Excel. Seminar seats are limited to 14. This small class size facilitates one on one coaching during work sessions.

Practical Work Sessions - work sessions will be integrated into the seminar. Participants are expected to supply their own laptop computer loaded with MS Project 2000, 2002 or 2003. During work sessions, participants will develop a Project Model starting with Project Concept and Scope and finishing with Project Closure.

Fees - $725 plus GST, for the two day seminar. Fees include a comprehensive workbook, plus lunch and two refreshment breaks both days. Please advise how the fees are to be invoiced.

In House Seminars can be negotiated. Enrolment limit is 14 persons and the fee is $7995 plus GST plus out of pocket expenses.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made at least six business days prior to the seminar, will receive a refund less 5% of the seminar fee as an administration charge.

Cancellations made less than six business days prior to the seminar may request a credit for a future seminar to the amount of the seminar fee less 5% administration cost and less catering costs ($40/seminar day.)
